Thanks to great technological innovations in each of North Medical's product lines, the company continually provides the best solutions for patients with various diseases worldwide.
Our business currently includes 4 distinct product lines in, Urology and Continence Care, Uro-Gynecology and Pelvic Reconstruction, and Gastroenterology.
UroStent - Ureteral Stent
The North Medical UroStent is a self-expanding large caliber stents, 24Fr - 30Fr (8 and 10mm) in diameter, made of a super elastic alloy covered by a polymeric material for preventing tissue ingrowth. The North Medical UroStent is intended for temporary long or short-term use in malignant or benign chronic Ureteral Stenosis. North medical Ureteral Stents are mounted on a ready to use 8 or 10Fr delivery system. By using the appropriate delivery system their deployment procedure can be performed either retrogradely or percutaneously.
Delivery system - the UreStents is inserted by endoscopic (retrograde), percutaneous (antegrade) insertion or combined antegrade & retrograde insertion into the ureter.
Stent sizes available in diameters of 8mm (24 Fr) and 10mm (30 Fr) and lengths of 100mm or 120mm.
BulStent - Bulbar Stent
North Medical BulStent is designed specifically for the treatment of recurrent strictures along the bulbar urethra. They will be the new therapeutic tool in the hands of the urologist who is not an expert in urethral surgery but has a case-load of recurrent urethral stricture patients to be treated. Differing from previous stents, they are large in caliber to match the contours of the bulbar urethral lumen. The main body acts as a mold to allow forming a large urethral lumen. The dynamic sphincteric segment prevents sphincteric dysfunction that may cause incontinence.
North Medical LARGE CALIBER, DYNAMIC AND EASILY REMOVABLE BULBAR URETHRAL STENT
Delivery systems - the BulStent is inserted under vision via an endoscopic delivery tool.
Stent sizes available in a caliber of 45 Fr and lengths of 50mm, 60mm and 80mm.
The North Medical Bulbar Stent is intended for temporary use and is designed to be removed easily and safely even after long indwelling periods.
BneckStent - Bladder Neck Stent
For patients undergoing Radical Prostatectomy and localized prostate cancer, up to 18-20% develops urethro-vesical anastomotic stenosis. Similar stenosis may develop after radical cysto-prostatectomy for bladder cancer. Bladder-neck stenosis may develop after TURP or thermotherapy for BPH; posterior urethral stricture may develop after prostate brachytherapy. There are no adequate and satisfactory solutions for these strictures which are managed by palliative dilations. Reconstructive surgery of these strictures is extremely difficult.
The North Medical BneckStent Stent is a temporary device comprised of a super-elastic structure fully covered with a co-polymer, inserted into the posterior urethra of these patients to open the occluded passage. During its indwelling period the stent acts as a mold and allows building of a large passage.
Stent sizes available - the BneckStent is 40 mm long and has a caliber of 45 Fr.
Prostent - Prostatic Stent
During the last 2 decades, the use of prostatic stents has started to become an alternative to indwelling catheters or even to surgery. The adaptation of existing vascular stents for different non-vascular conditions created a gap in the market for site- and disease-specific stents that are designed precisely to the anatomy and physiology of the organ to be treated.
North Medical has a unique large caliber, site-specific, triangular shaped, dynamic and easily removable Prostent.
North Medical's Prostent has a large caliber triangular cross-section to match the contours of the prostatic urethral lumen and have the ability to exert varying degrees of radial force depending on the anatomy. For example, higher radial force in its main body and lower radial force in the area near the external sphincter to prevent sphincteric dysfunction. These characteristics enable the North Medical Prostatic Stents to conform to the prostatic urethra, allow an excellent flow and offer a much improved comfort than existing stents, all these without jeopardizing the voluntary continence mechanism.
- Delivery systems - the Prostent system has a deployment handle with a Tiemann-type at the distal end; no fluoroscopy is needed.
- Stent sizes available in a caliber of 45Fr and 8 different lengths ranging from 30-65mm.
